10-Minute Manicure: Pastel Moons

[As published on Emmagem.com HERE]

Dress up your digits in happy-clappy pastel shades that are reminiscent of macarons and all things nice with Emmagem’s version of a quick-&-easy pastel moon manicure.
Don’t feel like channeling a good-girl look? Go goth with black/maroon/red – it’s ultra vampy but nonetheless just as eye-catching!
What we used:
From left to right: Dior Vernis in Saint Tropez (RM70), Chanel Le Vernis in Mimosa, May and June (RM70 each), Reinforcement rings (RM2.90, from any stationery shop)
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Paint your nails in different pastel colours. You can stick to our shade, or go random and use as many colours as you like (like how we did here). Allow to dry completely – you can even do this the day before.
Step 2: Stick the reinforcement rings on the bed of your nails, as shown in the picture. Make sure the edges adhere firmly to the surface of your nail.
Step 3: Paint the rest of your nails with pastel blue nail polish and allow to dry.
Step 4: Peel off the reinforcement rings (from sides to center to prevent the nail polish from tearing), and finish with top coat.
Voila!
Tip: Always choose a lighter colour as the base, and use a darker or more opaque tone for the uppermost coat. If your base colour is darker, the lighter upper coat won’t show up as much.
