Best Beauty Looks From Spring/Summer 2013

[As published on Emmagem.com HERE]
Today we’ll take a look at our pick of the best beauty trends for SS13, from New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and London Fashion Week (LFW).
As seen on: Kate Spade (NYFW), Moschino Cheap & Chic (LFW)
Get the look with…
(Left to right): L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Sassy Marshmallow, RM35.90. Rimmel Glam’Eyes HD in Royal Blue, RM35.90. Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow in Smoky Sexy, RM49.
If you have single eyelids, prep the upper lids with black eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger, and line your lower lashline with a bright pop of blue. For girls with double eyelids or deep-set eyes, apply light blue eyeshadow in the shape of a cat’s eye, and finish off by tight-lining the inner upper lashline with waterproof eyeliner.

As seen on: Prabal Gurung (NYFW), Holly Fulton (LFW)
Get the look with…
(Left to right): Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Favorite (coral) and L’Éclantante (hot pink), RM95 each. Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lipstick, RM72 each, Sephora.
This look works best with a satin finish lipstick – too glossy and it’ll bleed, too matte and you’ll look poisoned. Fill in lips with the pink shade, and then dab the coral hue on the center of your lips, using your fingertips to blend the edges.

As seen on: Karen Walker (NYFW), David Koma (LFW)
Get the look with…
(Left to right): China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Kalahari Kiss, RM25, Nail Fiesta. Butter London Nail Lacquer in Yummy Mummy, RM62.50, Luxola. Dior Vernis in Gris Tria, RM70.
If you’re fair, choose one that has pink-grey undertones to make your hands look even fairer. Flattertanned skin with a light beige-brown, which makes your skin look golden. Avoid greyish tones as they’ll make your skin look washed out.

Electric Eyeliner
As seen on: Donna Karan (NYFW), Marimekko (NYFW)
Get the look with…
(Left to right): shu uemura Cream Eye Shadow, price unavailable. Sleek Kajal Eyeliner in Odyssey, RM35,Luxola. NYX Slide On Pencil in Green Papaya, RM35, Sephora.
Pencil eyeliners or cream eyeshadows offer better colour payoff compared with powder eyeshadows, and stay on longer too. In this case, less is more. For daytime, a subtle flick of eyeliner will do, but for a night out, you can go all out and line the entire eye with one (or two, for a pop of colour!)) shade.
