Splurge VS Save: 3 Ways To Lose That Cellulite

[As published on HERE]
Cellulite used to be a concern for women in their thirties, who had already given birth and had a sedentary lifestyle. Other less-flattering names for cellulite include orange-peel skin and cottage-cheese skin. However, the trend is changing. A quick scan at the shopping mall will show you that cellulite is becoming more and more pronounced among young women, even thin ones.
Cellulite does not discriminate – young female celebrities like Mischa Barton, 27, Lady Gaga, 27 and Scarlett Johannson, 28, also fall prey to cellulite.

The most apparent area where cellulite can be seen: on the sides and backs of the thighs, where dimples and creases are caused by irregular fat deposits beneath the skin. Cellulite can also show up on the buttocks and upper arms.
Experts say that cellulite in young women are usually caused by lack of exercise and trying to lose weight by eating less. What you eat also highly affects your chances of developing cellulite earlier on in life. For instance, a young woman who has an office-bound job and eats fried, oily foods is more likely to have cellulite compared to a woman of the same age who works out and eats healthily.
  • Common causes of cellulite include:
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Slow metabolic rate
  • Unhealthy diet
  • Crash diets or starving oneself
  • Dehydration
However, it doesn’t mean you have to stop eating all your favourite foods, and become a gym freak. Like all things, moderation is key. You can still have that amazing baked cheesecake, but instead of one full slice, why not share it with a friend, or save half for the next day instead?
As age begins to catch up, cellulite becomes more apparent. No matter your budget, here are some tips on how to get started on your journey towards dimple-free skin. There might not be a cure for cellulite, but with lots of determination and patience, you’ll certainly see results. After all, good things come to those who wait!
P/S: Cellulite cannot be lost within weeks, so be patient! You’ll start to notice a difference within 3 to 4 months.
