Top 10 Facial Salons in KL (Part 2)

[As published on Emmagem.com HERE]

Last week, we wrote about our favourite facial salons in town. So, without further ado, here’s part 2 of Emmagem’s top 10 facial salons in KL!
(all salons featured are in no particular order)

If you’re an advocate of eco-friendly and organic beauty: Celebrity Beaute, Shah Alam

As women become more aware of the importance of natural ingredients, finding a beauty salon that truly believes in going organic is certainly a bonus. Celebrity Beaute uses two organic brands that are exclusive to the salon: Arise and NOHEM. The former is from Switzerland, whereas the latter originates from France. Despite being organic, the results are just as good, if not better, than your run-of-the-mill facials. The beauticians are also well-versed in what they do, but are never pushy or overbearing.

If you’re not into painful extraction and weird contraptions or machines: Clarins Skin Spa, KLCC

In Malaysia, Clarins Skin Spas are usually tucked behind standalone outlets, appearing rather daunting to those who’ve never been to one. However, the one at KLCC is way more pleasant, with a cosy waiting area that doesn’t put you under intense scrutiny. Step into the treatment room and you’ll notice that the ceiling is painted blue to look like the sky on a clear day. What we like about Clarins facials is that they don’t perform extractions, so you’re in for a relaxing treat once you settle down on the heated facial bed.

If you don’t like feeling pressured into signing up for packages: Herbaline, Sea Park

One of the things I dislike most about going for facials is when the beauticians try to sell you packages you don’t need. That’s why I find Herbaline awesome – all their outlets practice a ‘burden-free’ principle, which means nobody will try to pressure you into buying packages. The service is awesome, there is ample parking (and usually a parking attendant who is always ready to help) and the landscaping is extremely attractive. What’s even better for women over 50 is that on weekdays during non-peak hours, you get 50% off facial treatments, so it comes up to less than RM90 for a 2-hour facial.

If you’ve been through a helluva week and you deserve a treat: 128 Faubourg, Bangsar Village

They say that you can never really call yourself a facial junkie until you’ve experienced a Sothys facial. Every Sothys therapist undergoes strict training before they are allowed to perform their magic on your skin. The treatments don’t come cheap; but as far as indulgence goes, they’re pretty much on top of the list. Each year, Sothys also launches seasonal facial treatments that are strictly one-off limited edition: meaning if you miss it, you miss out forever. This year, its Pineapple-Guava (previous facials include Raspberry-Lychee, Orange-Quince and Blackberry-Apple).

If you’re looking for a unique salon for a girly outing: Poise Organic Wellness Studio, Old Klang Road

Even though Poise Organic Wellness Studio is more known for its body treatments, the facial menu is nonetheless comprehensive, with tailor-made solutions to address sensitivity, ageing, dullness, dryness and more. The Old Klang Road outlet is impressive – the three-storey bungalow also boasts a snack bar, a dance studio and even a clothing boutique. We love the ‘upcycled’ look of the exterior, which is Instagram-worthy on so many levels. If you’re looking for a place to unwind with a bunch of your girlfriends, or if you’re thinking of hosting a hen’s party, this is the place to be.
